"GPIB for QNX 4" is an IEEE488 driver completely written from scratch and
provides the whole functionality to drive any kind of GPIB-Device connected to
the bus, regardless of the specialities of these devices. Even devices, that
are not completely compatible to the IEEE488.2-standard can be controlled with
some custom changes.
Nearly 15 years of experience in the marketplace of measurement-control,
GPIB and automation and more than 10 years of experience with QNX, make it
possible to offer a very stable product which is used in a great number of
custom and even mission critical applications.
The driver itself was continuously developed and used in our own
installations over a period of more than eight years. To meet our customer
requirements we have now released a version, that can be purchased as a single
product.
We have bundled the driver with good documentation, a help-system which
plugs into the Photon-microGUI®, an API-Interface which makes it possible
to write your own applications, a shell-program to control the GPIB from the
command-line and a photon program to do the same under control of the
microGUI®.
Support of the complete set of National Instruments' GPIB-controllers
(including PCMCIA-Cards), a small memory-footprint, reliability and the option
to drive more than one GPIB-Interface per computer makes the package an ideal
choice for embedded solutions.
To meet the requirements of additional customer add-ons such as
device-simulators and GPIB-analyzer-tools, we continuously develop such tools
to make this top-selling product the first choice in GPIB-control with QNX.
Ask us for a completely free demo of our package to make
your own evaluation or ask for a list of the ever growing number of companies
and government-departments that use our GPIB-driver.
Our customers have free access to new updates and minor-release-changes.
Only a small amount of money must be paid for major release changes. As a
customer you also have free access to all the beta-versions of additional
addons you get an additional discount for new tools if you have been a beta
tester before.

* Some functions are provided by the Interface, but are currently only
supported by the software if the low-level-interface is used. Addons to the
driver to make it possible to become a complete GPIB-device using the
high-level-Interface are included until mid 1998.
Using the high-level interface, currently only a complete set of functions
to provide the controller-capability are included.
General and Device-dependent capabilities:
Supported GPIB-Cards:
INES-IEEE488, GPIB-PC2A-1, AT-GPIB.2, AT-GPIB/TNT, NI-488.2 and
PCMCIA-GPIB and GPIB+
Number of supported Cards:
As many as the computer is able to hold
Number of supported devices:
30 Devices per driver/card. Each device can be configured individually
(device-speed. End of Stream Termination and method).
Complete secondary addressing
Memory Requirements:
1 MB of disk-space for the complete set of programs, sample code and online
help (may be tailored to meet an embedded system)
70 KB of memory per supported card
Driver capabilities and software:
