NL-MPI Ethernet Gateway
With the emergence of the Ethernet technology into automation, there is now a
requirement to connect fieldbus-capable devices to the Ethernet.
Here, too, Gateway can be used, whereby in the meanwhile very compact
solutions are possible with available System-On-Chip technology.
The netLINK-MPI
This is built into a DSub housing which was developed for accepting the PROFIBUS
connecting cable. It consists of a MPI interface together with a 10/100 MBit/s
Ethernet interface and is thus a complete Gateway. Because of its structure in the
DSub housing, it can be plugged directly onto the MPI plug of the device and
connects this via a 3 meter long Ethernet cable with a Switch, Hub or PC.
The power supply is provided directly through the MPI plug.
