The EC1 chip serves a market segment in which large piece numbers permit a Fieldbus-specific chip and the flexibility of the COM module is not required.
The ASIC EC1 combines a high capacity processor and an On-Chip storage with 10/100 Mbps Ethernet, PROFIBUS Interface, two CAN channels and two serial Interfaces. As a Stand-alone Controller, the EC1 possesses 32 programmable I/Os or, alternatively can simply be coupled to a Host computer via the integrated 8 kByte Dual-port memory.
The hardware structure is identical to the CIF or COM and thus permits the utilization of the well-proven protocol stacks for the same application interface.
The EC1 is offered as a kit together with the protocol stacks.
