| The asynchronous LT-4V and LH-V line dividers
splitter a V.24-/M-1 modem connection into an
RS485/V.24 interface and a V.24-/M-1 modem interface,
the RS485/V.24 interface being galvanically
insulated from the other interfaces.
For example, this enables several RS485 networks
at some distance from each other to be connected
to a common station via the 4-wire M-1 modem
interface, or enables several addressed input
devices distributed in different buildings with
RS485/V.24 interfaces to be connected to a common
network.
The data flow direction supports any master/slave
networks and Multimaster networks (token passing).
The distance between two LH-4V/LT-4Vís may be
extended as far as 21 km, by means of the modem
interface, the data connection being galvanically
insulated by the optocoupler interfaces. After each
line divider the data are transmitted in regenerated
form. If one device fails, the line splitter is bridged
with relay control, so that the modem connection is
restored without data regeneration. This bypass
function provides a high degree of data protection.
The information contents and protocols are not
influenced by the short device running times.
The transient protection in the line dividers
provides good protection against lightning and overvoltages,
and the galvanic insulation provides
protection where there are differences in potential.
The LT-4V and LH-4V dividers meet the most
stringent requirements regarding reliability, operation
and performance, and their simple handling
enable the devices to be installed without problem.
The LT-4V is integrated in a small, compact tablemounted
casing with its own power supply with an
operating voltage of 230V AC.
The LH-4V is the LT-4V for the 35 mm mounting rail
and operates at a voltage of 24V DC. The signal
status is displayed by means of LEDís (Power, TD, RD
and DCD) on the front panel.
