| The LR-3C and LR-3 line dividers can be understood
to be electronically controlled switches. The
LR-3C is the central unit and the LR-3 is the line unit,
which corresponds to a switch position. The units
are linked together by a bus-type connection, which
is made by flat cable wring on the back of a 19î
frame. The line divider can be expanded by any
number of LR-3ís by a simple bus connection.
An LR-3 as a switch position is selected by the
RS232 status signals RTS and DCD, the input transmission
data or by an external switching voltage.
The input transmission data selection enables a multidrop
network to be constructed on an RS232 basis.
The selection signal can be evaluated on an edgeor
status-related basis.
The RS232 connections of the units may be configured
as DCE or DTE. Up to 3 inputs and 3 outputs,
together with the control signal, can be transmitted
to the LR-3C, which enables the transmission to be
freely configured. It is code-transparent and can be
effected in full-, half duplex or simplex mode.
