LINE SPLITTER
LINE SPLITTER

LH-4VE, LH-4VR

LINE SPLITTER
The asynchronous LH-4VE and LH-4VR line splitter divides a V.24-/M-1 modem connection into a RS422/ RS485/V.24 interface and a V.24-/M-1 modem interface, the RS422/RS485/V.24 interface being galvanically insulated from the other interfaces. For example, this enables several RS422/RS485 networks to be connected to a common station via the 4-wire M-1 modem interface, or enables several addressed input devices distributed in different buildings with RS422/RS485/V.24 interfaces to be connected to a common network. The different interface standards support Pro.- Bus, Modbus and any other .eldbus system, the contents of information and protocols are not in.uenced by the short device running times. The data .ow direction supports any master/slave networks and Multimaster networks (token passing). The distance between two LH-4VE/LH-4VR may be extended as far as 21 km, by means of the modem interface, the data connection being galvanically insulated by the optocoupler interfaces. After each line splitter the data is transmitted in regenerated form. If one device fails, the line splitter is bridged with relay control, so that the modem connection is restored without data regeneration. This bypass function provides a high degree of data protection. The transient protection in the line splitter provides good protection against lightning and overvoltages, and the galvanic insulation provides protection when there are differences in potential. The LH-4VE is the LT-4V for the 35 mm mounting rail and operates at a voltage of 24V DC. The signal status is displayed by means of LEDs (Power, TD, RD and DCD) on the front panel. The LH-4VE supports the RS422 additionally to the LT-4V at the interface X2. The LH-4VR is extended LH-4VE by the redundancy card OR-1.Thereby ring systems on base of the M-1 modem interfaces are possible. The information of the attached devices is sent on 2 separated ways to the communication partner. During a break of the ring the communication remains and the line splitters at the interrupted connection announce the disturbance over a reporting contact.
