MULTIFUNCTION MODEM
MULTIFUNCTION MODEM

LH-10

MULTIFUNCTION MODEM
The LH-10 multifunction modem can be adapted to a wide variety of applications. For example, as a line splitter it supports master/slave and Multi-master networks, and is therefore suitable for practically any field bus system. Because of the 3 ports with V.24, RS485 and M-1 modem interfaces, the modem can continue to be used as a converter and modem. The line splitter has a bypass function, i.e. the device is bridged with relay control in the event of a power failure. The modem requires an operating voltage of 24V DC and can therefore be installed in almost any switch cabinet. It supports speeds of up to 100,000 bits/s, and is full-, half duplex and simplex compatible. The range of the M-1 modem interface is up to 21 km, and it supports speeds of up to 100,000 bits/s. The range of the RS485 is up to 1000 metres, at speeds of up to 100,000 bits/s. The Hedin Tex LH-10 modem is suitable for assembly on a 35 mm DIN mounting rail. The modem is installed on the DIN bar by means of an assembly base, which consists of a retaining device for the rail and a terminal strip for the interface connections. The modem is placed directly on the assembly base, contact with the connections being made automatically. This assembly base, for instance, guarantees simple installation in the switch cabinet. A device can be replaced in just a few operations for service purposes. The interfaces comply with the standards RS485 or EIA RS232C/V.24/V.28, and they are all directly accessible via the screw terminal strip without plug bridges/jumpers. The signal status is displayed by means of LED’s (Power, RD, TD and DCD) on the front panel. The modem is code-transparent, i.e. it is completely independent of data structure and transfer protocols. The transient protection in the modems provides good protection against lightning and overvoltages. This not only protects the multifunction modem but above all the connected, more expensive terminal devices.
