Applications
The BlueStorm/LP board is a cost effective, low profile adapter that offers two and four asynchronous serial ports with various electrical interfaces that enable you to connect multiple terminals, modems, printers, data collection devices, barcode readers and other serial devices to PCI bus compatible computers. The BlueStorm/LP adapter is an ideal industrial strength solution, especially where limited space is a consideration, for communications, data acquisition, industrial automation, office automation, POS, and scientific/instrumentation applications requiring high-speed multi-channel serial data collection and processing.

• Half Duplex (2 wire) with auto TxD echo cancellation.

• Independent port configuration with baud rates from 50 bps to 1.8432 Mbps; data bits of 5, 6, 7 or 8; stop bits of 1, 1.5, or 2, and odd, even, or stick parity (custom baud rates also offered).
• Full modem control on all ports.
• DB-9 male fan-out cable (custom cable solutions also offered).
• Optional multi-strike surge suppression; IEC 1000-4 compatible on all signals, all ports.
• Low profile chassis bracket installed on the board with an additional standard height chassis bracket included.
• Easy installation comes with board, cable assembly, low and standard profile chassis brackets, installation guide and driver software. No DIP switches or jumpers to set – full Plug and Play.

High Speed, High Performance Communications
Rapid data transfer rates up to 1.8432 Mbps on all ports make the BlueStorm/LP board ideal for high speed connections. The high performance Dual or Quad PCI UART with 64 bytes of TxD and RxD FIFO buffers offload interrupt handling and buffering from the main CPU, thus improving overall system performance. The BlueStorm/LP driver uses the global interrupt source register for more efficient interrupt handling and greater performance.

Hardware Reliability
The Dual or Quad PCI UART offers more functionality in one chip. This translates into fewer components on the board and therefore higher reliability. The BlueStorm/LP adapter provides optional IEC1000-4 compatible surge suppression on all signals, all ports. Suppression against electrical disturbances, spikes and surges means fewer failures, less downtime.

Hardware Flexibility
The BlueStorm/LP supports three RS-422/485 modes: Full Duplex with RTS/CTS flow control; Half Duplex with auto TxD echo cancellation; and Multidrop Slave for four wire, full duplex communications of multi-drop devices. You can configure each port's baud rate, parity, data and stop bits independently and all ports have full modem control. The BlueStorm/LP adapter ships with low and standard profile chassis brackets to fit your system.

Software Compatibility
An extremely proficient BlueStorm/LP software driver offers a standard COM port API for many of the most popular operating systems such as Windows 2000/XP and QNX. This provides you with more software flexibility and performance for your communication needs.

The BlueStorm/LP adapter comes ready for simple installation with no DIP switches or jumpers to set. Included are board, cable assembly, low and standard profile chassis brackets, driver software and installation guide.
