10Base-FL ST/SC Multi/Single-Mode <> 10Base-T RJ-45 Ethernet Converter
OVERVIEW
CEM2000/2200/2800 is an Ethernet IEEE 802.3 media converter between 10Base-FL to 10Base-T.
It is designed to address the situation where only 10Base-T port is available but require
10Base-FL fiber optics connectivity. Operated effectively in either full- or half- duplex,
this media converter is ideal for backbone campus, or workgroups with integrated mixed
cabling environments, using either switched or shared Ethernet. Such high performance
media converter can repeat and convert data signal running 10Base-FL cable up to 2 km
over multi-mode fiber or up to 10 km over single-mode fiber.
CEM2x00 are equipped with either fiber optic SC connectors (CEM2000) or ST connectors
(CEM2200/CEM2800) and one RJ-45 jack (MPR/DTE switch selectable). CEM2x00 can be used
to connect to either a hub or a workstation. There are 4 LED indicators on the CEM2x00
and they are used for monitoring and diagnosing the power, TP Link/Activity, and Fiber
Link/Activity status.
