The FA-511 10/100 dual-speed CardBus Ethernet PC Card is a 32-bit, high-performance adapter that allows any CardBus-equipped computer to connect to an Ethernet or Fast Ethernet network.
Unlike 16-bit PC Cards, which operate at slower ISA bus speeds of 8 MHz using an ISA-like asynchronous protocol, CardBus provides a fast 32-bit multiplexed address/data path that allows full access to Fast Ethernet's bandwidth.
By utilizing internal bus speeds, CardBus can operate at speeds six times faster than a 16-bit PC Card and five times faster than a 100 Mbps PC Card.
