| The H-4 asynchronous interface converter is suitable
for assembly on a 35 mm DIN mounting rail.
The converter is mounted on the DIN rail by means
of an assembly base, which consists of a retaining
device for the rail and a screw terminal strip for
the interface connections. The interface converter is
placed directly on the assembly base with automatic
contact with the connections. Simple installation or
replacement of devices is guaranteed by this assembly
The H-4 interface converter guarantees codetransparent
conversion of the RS232/V.24, on both
sides, to an RS485 or RS422 interface, the interfaces
being galvanically isolated from each other.
The RS422/RS485 interface is designed for reliable
extension of the internal data line for distances of up
to 1.2 km. The H-4 is operated at a supply voltage of
Interface 1 conforms to the standards EIA RS232
and CCITT V.24/V.28. The signal status is displayed by
means of LED’s (Power, RD, TD and RTS) on the front
panel. The data can be transfered with two twisted
pairs of wires in full duplex, with one pair of wires
in half duplex or simplex. Where one pair of wires
is used the transfer is controlled by the V.24/ RS232
signal RTS (105) or data. The transient protection in
the H-4 provides good protection against lightning
and overvoltages, which protects not only the interface
converter but also the connected, more expensive
terminal devices. The H-4 meets the most
stringent requirements regarding reliability, operation
and performance, and because of simple handling
the devices can be installed without problem.
The Hedin Tex product H-4 has a short delivery.

| Maximum transmission distance: 0-1200 metres at 0-100 kbits/s. Use pair twisted, unscreened cables. The transfer characteristics
deteriorate as the capacitance increases and the cable cross-section is reduced. Use screened cables in heavy interference
environment but consider that higher capacitances reduce the transmission distance.
