Comtrol's DeviceMaster PRO 10/100Base-T device server provides bus-independent serial port expansion, a platform for hosting and running application-specific programs, and the ability to remotely monitor and manage serial devices. Providing support for Linux and Microsoft® Windows® environments, it delivers quick and easy peripheral connectivity utilizing the Ethernet LAN.

The DeviceMaster PRO also supports RS-232/422/485 software-selectable interfaces on each DB9* or RJ45 port. It is ideally suited for applications where multiple interface formats are required to connect peripherals that are located long distances from the server and when programmability and enhanced surge protection is desired. Serial ports can reside outside the server anywhere on the LAN-so the server can be kept in a secure back-office location while serial devices conveniently reside anywhere they are needed!

To address the needs of customers installing device servers in harsh conditions such as electrically noisy industrial, factory, and retail environments, the DeviceMaster PRO accepts a wider range of input voltages than most device servers. The DeviceMaster PRO can accept between 9 to 30 VDC, making it more reliable where power fluctuations are common. This is ideal for situations involving motors, power lines, highpower equipment, and short circuits, which are common sources of high-voltage, shortduration transient electrical currents. The DeviceMaster PRO also uses DB9 serial ports with enhanced surge protection of 25KV. The combination of superior DB9 cable shielding and 25KV serial surge protection enables the DeviceMaster PRO to provide sustained reliable operation under electrically noisy conditions to help keep your mission-critical systems running smoothly.

When you have multiple device servers installed, Comtrol's PortVision port management software enables efficient configuring, monitoring, and managing of multiple DeviceMasters from one centralized PC-based application, delivering a graphical, customizable, comprehensive, and powerful management interface. *DB9 available only on 8-port model.
