Features

Four high performance RS232 and/or RS485/422 and/or 20mA current loop
and/or RS423 asynchronous communication ports.

The electrical interfaces are on Serial Line Interface Modules (SLIM).
SLIM's are field upgradeable allowing the user to configure the DFlex-4/104
with a combination of electrical interfaces. This feature also allows the user to
change the combination of electrical interfaces at any time making the DFlex-4/104 the
most flexible serial board on the market.

Ports are controlled by a high performance Quad XR16C654 UART which is
backward compatible with standard 16450 and 16550 UART's.

Data transfer speeds range from 50 bps to 460.8 kbps.

IRQ lines are jumper selectable; IRQ’s 3, 4, 5, 6, 7,
9/2, 10, 11,12, 14, 15 are available.

Choice of using one, two, or four interrupts.

PC104 compliant.

Multiple boards may reside in a computer to accommodate large systems.

Supported by the most popular multi-user operating systems such as: QNXUNIX.2,

High Speed Communications
The DFlex-4/104 board provides rapid data transfer rates up to 460.8k
baud on all ports. Each port can be configured independently. The Exar 16C654 UART
features 64 byte receive and transmit FIFO buffers. FIFO buffers improve performance and
efficiency, and minimise data loss.
Hardware Flexibility
The Dflex-4/104 is the most flexible PC/104 serial communications card on the market!
The DFlex-4/104 board uses Serial Line Interface Module (SLIM)
technology to provide different electrical interfaces such as
RS-232, RS-485/422, RS-423 and 20mA Current Loop
on the same board. As hardware requirements change within the
application, the user may field upgrade the board with the appropriate SLIM. You can install
multiple DFlex-4/104 boards in a system to accommodate large multi-user or
multi-channel I/O requirements. Port addresses and interrupt lines are jumper selectable.
Software Compatibility
Because of its compatibility with standard PC serial ports, the
DFlex-4/104 board supports all the most popular operating systems and communication software.
For DOS applications which do not support multi-port adapters, the DFlex-4/104 board
comes with a Windows95/98 driver.
