March 2008: Comtrol switches multiport product range to RocketPort Infinity
Due to the advantage that new boards supports uPCI, PCI and PCI-X
as well as RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 the former RocketPort uPCI
will be discontinued.
As you know Comtrol Corporation introduced the RocketPort Infinity product range towards the end of 2007.
This product supports uPCI, PCI and PCI-X environments. With this in mind it has been decided to discontinue
the RocketPort uPCI product range from the end of 31st December 2008. The RocketPort Express product range
supports PCIe environments.
At present they will continue to manufacture the RocketPort uPCI 4J and 8J in the usual way. <>
The RocketPort 550 range will be unaffected by this change.
Datasheet will follow soon!

December 2003: NEW!! The QNX Cookbook
Kick your QNX Neutrino projects into high gear with tons of tested, documented, and, most importantly, thoroughly explained projects!
This book features a wealth of both commercial-grade as well as toolkit-grade components.
Each component is in its own chapter, and has a detailed explanation of not only how the code works, but also why it was designed the way it was.
Plenty of pages are devoted to step-by-step descriptions of the factors that went into the design of each component, how the component makes use of the various features of the operating system, as well as additional enhancements that you can do to change the functionality of the components.
Topics include everything from thread fingerprinting (available as a sample chapter), to a RAM-disk filesystem, to data acquisition, graphics file generation on-the-fly, and general topics such as high-availability.

January 2003: Lifetime Warranty for CTI products.
Connect Tech Inc. Announces New Lifetime Warranty
Guelph, Ontario - January 2, 2003
Connect Tech Inc., designer and manufacturer of multi-port serial
adapters, announced that its entire line of products will be covered by a
new
Lifetime Warranty. The decision to upgrade the warranty, coupled with an
existing policy of free technical support, translate into more value and
peace
of mind with every Connect Tech purchase. The change is effective January
1,
2003.
"We want to offer our customers the most value for their dollar," explained
Connect Tech President David J. Worthen. "The Lifetime Warranty removes
one element from the decision-making process. Trouble-free repairs and
support are a given when purchasing a Connect Tech product; there will be
no
expensive surprises down the road. We've always stood behind the quality
and
reliability of our products, and it was time to translate that product
belief into
a tangible asset for our customers."
The extended warranty includes a grace period of 90 days, and is therefore
retroactive to October 1, 2002. Connect Tech will honor the warranty on any
purchases made after that date. Customers
whose purchases fall outside the time frame may still take advantage of the
of
the new policy by upgrading their current warranties. Please contact SWD
for
details.
The warranty will apply across all product families, covering Connect
Tech's
popular Blue Heat/PCI series, the Xtreme PC/104 family, the
CompactPCI-based
Titan boards, USB-to-serial products, and the ISA series.

Connect Tech Inc. brings its design expertise to the CompactPCI marketplace with the
introduction of its newest multi-port I/O adapter, the Titan/cPCI.
Following a tradition of producing cost-effective boards while maintaining high performance
and quality, Connect Tech’s Titan offers a number of features on its small, 3U CompactPCI
form factor. This flexible board includes two or four ports of jumper selectable RS-232 or
RS-485 configuration, the option for front or rear I/O, and support for all of the most
popular operating systems.
The Titan is capable of baud rates of 1.8342 Mbps on RS-485 and 230.4 Kbps on RS-232,
while offering multi-strike surge protection on every signal of every port, ensuring
excellent
performance and reliability for your communication needs. State of the art 16C950-style

August 2001: The new high performance technology of its NT960 adapter:
Connect Tech Inc., a leading manufacturer of quality serial communications adapters, is
pleased to announce that the high performance technology of its NT960 adapter is now
available for the PCI bus compatible computer. This RISC-based intelligent multi-port
subsystem offers one of the industry’s most flexible solutions for demanding serial I/O
requirements.
Robust and efficient, the NT960/PCI is built around a 33 MHz Intel 80960 RISC processor,
with 1 MB of RAM. These features substantially reduce serial I/O bottlenecks on the host
CPU, resulting in improved operations for your system.
In combination with our modular ACM technology, one NT960/PCI host adapter can
accommodate up to 128 flexible, high performance ports. Serial Line Interface Modules
ensure your system comes with the electrical interface combinations that are right for your
requirements. Add the ease of Plug and Play, and support for all the most popular operating
systems and the NT960/PCI subsystem is the logical, reliable choice for your complex
communications needs.
The NT960/PCI can be purchased as a PCI host adaptor replacement for an existing

August 10, 1999: QNX driver for Hilscher-CIF-cards of Cogent
Hilscher CIF-cards offer even access to field bus systems
(CANopen, Interbus, ModConnect, Profibus, etc.) over only one single driver!
This simplifies the things dramatically in two ways:
-
On the programming level: you can exchange cards as you like
with out the need of modifying the type of access
-
On the program selection level: you only need a single configuration and diagnostic program
This revolutionary concept was available so far only under Microsoft operating systems.
Now Cogent offers for the first time a driver for QNX.

Dezember 2, 1998: Glass fibre Ethernet card for QNX 4.25
Fibre optics is an ideal solution for industrial networks because of its extreme fail-safe characteristics.
Linking a QNX computer to a glass fibre network still caused problems on the last meter of the connection,
because of a interference-prone twisted-pair cable.
The company Danpex now offers two network cards for the PCI bus,
with ST or SC links for direct connection with the glass fibre network.
Since the card uses the popular chip DEC 21143,
there are no problems supporting it also by QNX 4.25.
SWD has taken over the Europ-wide distribution of all network products of Danpex.
